Hello, Tomb Raider fans!

This week is the great reveal of the much-anticipated game: Shadow of the Tomb Raider! I must say I am very pleased, for I was thinking after all of the clues for SOTTR was going in this direction. We have learned that Lara will be dealing with a Maya apocalypse. I think that is a great theme considering the hype that circulated around this idea in 2012.

It was a media circus for those who did not understand the actual meaning behind the prediction. Archaeology is deep in my educational background, and I know what a Maya archeological site is like and have had hands-on experience with being there and studies etc. I must say the Maya people are friendly, lovely people that I have crossed paths with, and all of this makes the game more interesting for me.

However, this being a game does not have to be as accurate historically as a thesis. So, rather it’s off here and there or not, that is fine with me. I know I am not watching, reading or playing an academic paper. I adore Tomb Raider and always will for the pure entertainment value alone. The following full trailer will show you what you have been waiting for! There is sacrifice and what appears to be Trinity stalking through the jungle. The Maya theme is high here and what I expected. Lara gets dirty and inflicts much pain on her enemies in this game as we can see. The trailer title says it all, “The End of the Beginning” This Lara looks a little different in fact she reminds me of Vikander a bit. I like this rendition a lot. Now things are quite obvious and complete. We just need the game in September! It sure is going to be a fantastic gaming experience!
