Interesting game plot. Apparently according to a few documents I have dug up the Maya of Shadow of the Tomb Raider migrated and founded Paititi due to the silver box of Ix Chel being threatened to fall into the hands of their enemies. They embark on a pilgrimage to a new land south of where they lived. Hence South America. This is for insight into why they came to Peru in the game. All of these are supposed to be written in MAM a Maya language. This describes a lot about why they went there. However, if there is another reason in the plot I missed I happily stand corrected, for I would love to add that to this small article.
