Lara’s Studio Featuring: Athena

Hello, Tomb Raider fans!

Welcome to the second edition of “Lara’s Studio” To kick off my February “Lara’s Studio” I am happy to feature the very talented virtual photographer, Athena!

Her work is eye-catching and is receiving great recognition throughout the Tomb Raider community! Athena has a talent for capturing Lara in shots that make you look deeper into her character. I see many layers within the work and that is what allows me to enjoy it even more.

About The Artist

“First of all, thank you very much for appreciating my work. It means so much to me, because I am not a professional photographer, I am a linguist, this is my main job, but photography is something that I always loved. My journey with Tomb Raider photography started last year when I discovered scionjay96’s Twitter profile. I literally fell in love with his Lara photos. The quality, the details, the colors… Everything looked perfect. Then, during the #TR25 Shadow celebration month I started testing my photomode skills and I realized that it was way harder than taking photos of beautiful places (in real life). Later, I downloaded The Dagger of Xian (DoX) Remake by the talented Nicobass and, not gonna lie, this game really helped me to improve my photomode skills. And, for now, I think DoX shots are one of my best Lara Croft shots. I am so proud of them. It’s unbelievable how this game, even if it has only one level, allows me to take hundreds of completely different shots. Of course, I will continue photographing Lara, this is just the beginning, cause I still need to go back to Shadow and try something different.”

So now let’s look at some of her remarkable photos she was kind enough to send to me. Enjoy the following galleries one is a auto gallery. And the other is a classic gallery. All photos are copyright to Athena!

For those who cannot get the story gallery to work, the larger gallery below should provide access to the photos.

For more fantastic photos from Athena, don’t forget to check her Twitter & Flickr accounts out, and follow her if you haven’t already. It is absolutely worth your time! Here is a picture (another favorite of mine) directly from her Twitter account where you will find many more!!
